The Distilleries

Rare whisky,
distillery by distillery.

We focus on a small circle of distilleries — Dalmore, Laphroaig and Macallan, plus the well-established new fills we follow. Single casks and rare bottles are matched to collectors privately, by appointment; nothing here is listed.

Distillery-led sourcing

The distillery is the story.
The cask is held privately.

We do not list casks. Each barrel is sourced through a direct relationship — with the house, its brokers and our bonded network — then matched to a collector who is ready to hold it for years, not months.

“When a distillery door shuts, the casks inside it are finite. The last original stocks of Brora and Port Ellen are among the rarest assets in whisky.”Bohen’s Advisory — house position

Our focus

Three houses at the heart
of the portfolio.

Established, blue-chip distilleries whose casks command the strongest demand — the houses we know, and follow, best.

Highland · Founded 1839

Dalmore

First-fill sherry maturation and a polished, confident profile. Dalmore’s casks carry a devoted auction following and reward long-term holding.

Doors open

Islay · Founded 1815

Laphroaig

Islay’s famously peated single malt. A loyal following keeps demand consistent through every year a cask is in oak.

Doors open

Speyside · Founded 1824

The Macallan

The benchmark for rare Scotch. Sherry-seasoned oak, single-cask heritage and the auction records that follow — few names carry more weight.

New fills

Well-established new fills.
Proven, and waiting.

We only work with new fills once they are well established — houses whose recent spirit has already proved its demand. Earlier in maturation, they represent the strongest entry point in the market.

Highland · Founded 1825

Ben Nevis

A Highland original with a devoted modern following. Its new fills are now well established — much-admired spirit, and a patient collector’s favourite.

New fills · established

Speyside · Founded 1967

Glenallachie

Revitalised under master distiller Billy Walker. New fills are well established with collectors and blenders alike — and still early in their climb.

The entry point

Why new fills

Proven demand at an earlier stage of maturation is the strongest value in whisky — and patience is exactly what whisky rewards.

Private · by appointment

Closed distilleries

When a door shuts,
the casks inside are finite.

When production stops, no more casks will ever be filled. Every year makes the original stock rarer — and more valuable. We hold the last casks of these houses, offered only privately.

Highland · Closed 1983

Brora

Highland single malt lost in the 1980s downturn. Its last-filled casks are among the most coveted in the market — and they are not making any more.

Doors shut

Islay · Closed 1983

Port Ellen

Islay’s legendary peated house. Production ended in 1983; the remaining casks are finite, heavily collected and quietly celebrated.

Doors shut

Lowland · Closed 1993

Rosebank

Triple-distilled and floral — the “King of the Lowlands”. Mothballed in 1993, its spirit is no longer made and its casks grow rarer by the bottle.

Single casks — the core of the portfolio

We advise on single casks: whole barrels of Scotch, bought outright and maturing under bond while their value compounds with every year of age.

We do not list them. Each cask is sourced through our direct relationships and matched to a private owner — held in bonded storage, insured and cared for on your behalf for as long as you own it.

“One cask. One owner. One asset — that is what we advise on.”
